xmms-mad is an MP3 input plugin for XMMS based on libraries from the MAD project. It also has limited support for playback of shoutchast and icecast streaming mp3s. . Because it is based on MAD the plugin has several advantages over the standard MP3 plugin that ships with XMMS such include using 100% fixed-point arithmatic and supporting upto 24-bit output.
